    Gpa 604-e-2 ?

    @ all,
is there something going on - or is it just a joke?
I heard something curious, that there is a 'new' E from GPA with alnico and 604H series III horn?
    regards

Dunno, maybe the retailer has worked a deal for a proprietary custom.

In the computer industry, there is a term called "vaporware"

As long as it's coming soon, it doesn't exist....

I suspect GM has it, that at least negotiations are going on for a custom run..

Why call it an "E" though is beyond me since I doubt it will have the old radial phase plug, and if it has the later horn it certainly isn't an "E"

I smell marketing...and that always smells like my neighbor's field...:nosepicker:

Well, it's an Alnico E, but with a new twist that's really old...

I'll give you a hint: it's not a Mantaray, not the new radial, and not the C through G horn...

Are we finally going to get a horn big enough for a 900-1 kHz XO? Frankly, anything less is much ado about nothing from my apparently 'deep fringe' POV.

GM I know where there are a bunch of these at a reasonable price

    http://www.altecpro.com/pdfs/vintage...%20Speaker.pdf

    These cross at 1K

AIUI the xover rolls of the highs but I would go active anyway.

Redhead says I can replace the home theater system if the old ones go.

Okay..I am assuming it will have the new phase plug, and you seem to indicate it won't have an "E" horn...

So why call it an "E"? It certainly isn't...

    Large format HF driver?

Looking at that pic of the E face down, I'm still struck by the beauty of it's backside.

    (insert gaffaws here)

Of course, this has nothing to do with sound reproduction, just sayin'.

Love the color scheme of Grey + White.

I expect to see it spinning with 'Blue Danube' playing in the background.

Speaking of, follow the link for a fun and groovy version of Also Sprach Zarathustra:
